Northvolt is a European supplier of high-quality battery cells and systems, made in an environmentally sustainable way. The company was founded in 2016 with the mission to build the world’s greenest battery with a minimal carbon footprint and the highest recycling capabilities.

 

In the plant located in Gdańsk we produce energy storage systems and battery modules that replace internal combustion engines in industrial machines. Currently Northvolt Poland is increasing its manufacturing capabilities by building a highly-automated, state-of-the-art production plant.

 

Currently we are looking for a Tactical Buyer who will be responsible for purchasing direct goods for the company.

Key responsibilities:
  • Interfacing with Sourcing Team on sourcing strategy and executing accordingly
  • Acquiring and maintaining technical understanding of direct products used in production process
  • Performing cost analysis and volume planning for major commodities
  • Developing new supply sources where vendors and suppliers are inadequate
  • Recommending cost saving proposals including make-versus-buy analysis, alternative sourcing, and vendor evaluation criteria
  • Investigating alternate component technologies or supplies, reducing cost and improving quality and reliability
  • Participating in and supporting the coordinated contract and price negotiations with strategic suppliers driven by Sourcing Team
  • Securing Purchasing Data Accuracy on continued basis
  • Resolving wide range of issues in creative and effective ways
  • Driving Continues Supplier Improvements through available processes
Skills & Requirements:
  • At least 2 years of experience in sourcing related position
  • Experience in mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical manufacturing field or similar
  • Knowledge of ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365 would be an advantage)
  • Fluent English
