In order to meet the increased demand for complete battery solutions on the European market, we are establishing a highly automated, state-of-the-art production facility for battery modules and energy storage solutions in Gdansk, Poland.
As a Chief Accountant you will oversee the entire accounting operations process, with the laser focus on public grants/funds control, reconciliation and settlement. You will closely overseas and cooperate with Northvolt Poland managers of individual departments as well as Northvolt Stockholm battery system division.
Key responsibilities:
- Leading and managing entire accounting operations, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Cost Accounting, Inventory, Fixed Assets, Cash Management and Taxes.
- Supervision and control over the correct financial settlement of Public Grants/Funds.
- Preparation of the accounting model and ERP system for accounting related to subsidies and grants.
- Responsibility for correct and timely tax settlements, preparing tax returns and maintaining proper tax and public insurance records and documentation.
- Supervision over the recording of economic operations in accordance with the balance sheet, Accounting Act, tax regulations and international accounting standards.
- Preparation of financial statements of the company (monthly, quarterly and annual) and monthly reporting of the company’s results.
- Creating and implementing internal accounting and finance policies and procedures in line with international standards.
- Working closely with the Controlling Department, Business and Head of Finance.
- Cooperation and supporting other countries’ business units with regard to accounting process.
- Assisting in the development and implementation of ERP systems.
- Drawing up statistical and other reports required by law (Central Statistical Office, National Polish Bank etc.).
- Preparation of analyses and reports for internal needs of the company.
- Facilitating the auditing process and liaising with external auditors. (incl. Tax Office, Social Security).
Requirements:
- Experience with Public Grants/Founds settlements and control.
- Proven successful track as Finance/Accounting expert and acting Chief Accountant
- Working in manufacturing environment - directly or indirectly (SSC/BPO)
- Strong attention to details, problem solving mindset
- High sense of responsibility, positive and proactive attitude
- Very good teamwork and communication skills with the ability to operate in dynamic international environment
- Experience with ERP systems, knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 will be a strong asset.
- Practical knowledge of the provisions of the Accounting Act, tax regulations and international accounting standards.
- ACCA/CIMA would be a plus.
- MS Office suite, with proficiency in Excel
- Very good command of English and Polish
