Your key responsibilities on Leading Engineer role will include:
- Supervise execution of assigned to engineering team project work according to plan agreed with PM (drawing list & time schedule);
- Report locally to the PM;
- Responsible for engineering and design services for the assigned projects:
- Advise, follow-up and manage technical solutions developed by engineering team in accordance with Class requirements, contractual requirements (Technical specifications) and Sunreef design standards
- Co-ordinate with all engineering disciplines;
- Follow-up status, quality and compliance of documentation performed and provided by subcontractors (in cooperation with local engineers);
- Ensure that delivery times are met for the drawings and calculations assigned to the engineering team according to the schedule agreed with PM;
- Contribute to design reviews and production meetings;
- Coach allocated resources and efficiently use of resources allocated to him
- Perform (cross discipline) design reviews, supported by relevant engineering depatrments
- Identify, document, manage and monitor project risks and report them to the PM;
- Maintain good relations with customer, class and authorities;
- Keep proactive project communication with all stakeholders;
- If needed, support engineers to initiate tender processes related to scope of their responsibility;
- Maintain and supervise proper information flow up and downstream between design and production teams;
- Provide input to lessons learned initiatives.
What we are looking for in a candidate:
- High degree – technical degree preferred,
- Professional experience with leading projects in a production company – preferably new-building shipyard,
- Very good command of English
- Theoretical and practical knowledge of technical aspects of ship and yacht building,
- Knowledge of CLASS and Authorities’ technical standards for yachts,
- High level of organization skills and self confidence in making decisions,
- Understanding of the value of proper stakeholder management, skills in balancing interests of different parties and finding compromises,
- solution-oriented, flexible, proactive and skilled in the art of communicating open-minded and respectfully at all levels,
- High proficiency in negotiations.
